"WHEN WE FIGHT TIME, WE LOSE" IN LEAVINGS ISSUE 4

My friend Nate Logan and composed a cento through the mail from early summer 2022 until spring 2023. I'm delighted to share that that cento is published in Leavings issue 4 today--read it here. It contains 52 lines, including the title, because the USPS will be 52 years old in July. I chose a line, wrote it down, and mailed it to Nate. Nate chose a line, wrote it down, and mailed it to me. Over and over again. The writing held an element of danger because, well friends, sometimes the mail gets lost. Giant thanks to Zuleyha + Max at Leavings, which is one of my favorite journals, and giant thanks to Nate for spanning time with me and for sharing in the joy of bringing this poem together.
